Biography

Dr Teresa Pointing

Dr Teresa Pointing joined In-volve as Clinical Director in October 2007.  During this period she was responsible for Clinical Leadership and Clinical Governance across the organisation.  In this role she:

  • Developed and refined clinical and practice governance structures and processes within In-volve
  • Introduced a Standards Framework based on Standards for Better Health and development planning across services
  • Developed and refined clinical policy and strategy
  • Delivered direct provision of clinical supervision and substance misuse treatment for young people

Teresa is qualified as a GP and NHS Trust Specialist in Substance Misuse. She has worked for over 20 years in NHS services as a GP, PCT Clinical Lead and Trust Specialist, and clinical director of a specialist Community Drug and Alcohol Service.
 
Experienced in building new services, she has led development of a successful shared care scheme, primary care clinic and partnership of statutory, voluntary and social services into an integrated service model for adults.

She also has a professional interest in adolescent health, and has played an advisory role to public bodies (TDA, DCSF, DH) on the development of integrated services for children and young people.

She is a trainer for the RCGP Certificate in Drug Misuse Management, has led many GP and multidisciplinary training workshops, and run local CPD programmes.
