Counselling is a place to talk about difficult thoughts and events that are causing distress. It is a safe, accepting and confidential place where young people can talk to somebody who will really listen and try and understand life from their point of view.
How could it help?
Often people use drugs and alcohol to help them cope, it helps them block out painful thoughts and feelings.
Counselling could help young people to understand and deal with some of these feelings in a more constructive way, discovering new skills to help them to cope with their lives.
